Terms of Service

The service

Unlimited OCR converts images and PDFs into text. It is provided free of charge and as-is, with no service level guarantee and no promise of uptime. We may change, limit, interrupt, or discontinue any part of it at any time, and we may apply reasonable limits on file size, page count, or request volume to keep it usable for everyone.

Recognition depends on third-party processing services. If they are unavailable or slow, the service will be too.

What you upload stays yours

You keep every right you already had in the files you upload. Uploading grants us only the narrow permission needed to run the recognition you asked for and return the result to you — nothing more, and only for as long as that takes. We claim no ownership over your documents or over the text extracted from them.

By uploading a file you confirm you have the right to do so: that it is yours, or that you have permission from whoever it belongs to.

Accuracy is not guaranteed

This is the most important clause on the page.

OCR output can contain errors. Characters get misread, numbers get transposed, table cells get misaligned, and difficult scans fail in ways that are not obvious at a glance. This is true of every OCR system and it is true of this one.

You are responsible for checking the output before you rely on it. Do not use unreviewed results as the basis for legal, medical, financial, or safety-related decisions. We accept no liability for anything that follows from acting on unverified output.

Acceptable use

Do not use the service to:

• Break any applicable law.
• Process material you have no right to process, including other people's personal or confidential documents without a lawful basis.
• Infringe anyone's intellectual property.
• Attempt to gain unauthorised access to the service, its infrastructure, or other users' data.
• Overwhelm, probe, or disrupt the service, including through automated request floods.
• Upload malware or content designed to cause harm.

We may restrict or block access that breaches these rules, without notice where the breach is serious.

Optional accounts

An account is not required. If you create one, keep your credentials to yourself — you are responsible for activity under your account. Tell us at support@unlimited-ocr.com if you think it has been compromised, and close it whenever you like from your account settings.

Our own content

The site, its design, text, and the software behind it belong to us and are protected by copyright and other laws. Using the service does not transfer any of those rights to you.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, nor for lost profits, lost data, or business interruption arising from your use of or inability to use the service. Nothing here excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. Changes take effect when published on this page, and the date at the top will tell you when that was. Continuing to use the service after a change means you accept it.
