About UnlimitedOCR

Why we built a free unlimited OCR that turns images and PDFs into structured Markdown, and what we believe about pricing, quality, and privacy.

What this is

UnlimitedOCR turns images and multi-page PDFs into clean, structured text: Markdown you can paste into your notes, tables that survive as rows and columns, formulas that come back as LaTeX, and handwriting read alongside print.

You can use it free, every day, without an account, a watermark, or a page counter ticking over your head.

Why we built it

Most free OCR sites run twenty-year-old engine technology inside your browser. It was a fine idea when the alternative was desktop software, but it fails exactly where documents get interesting: tables collapse into word soup, handwriting turns to noise, and a long PDF freezes the tab.

Modern document AI solved those problems. What it lacked was a place where anyone could use it without setting up infrastructure or paying enterprise prices. That is the gap this site fills: serious document understanding, wrapped in a tool simple enough to use during a coffee break.

What we believe

  • Free should mean usable. A daily allowance generous enough for real work, not a teaser that runs out after three pages.
  • Structure is the product. Plain text is only half the job. Tables, headings, reading order, and formulas are where the time savings live.
  • Privacy by default. Files are processed in memory and are not stored on our servers after the job completes. No human reads your documents.
  • Honest limits. Where there is a cap, we print it next to the upload box, not in a footnote.

Who we are

We are a small independent team that spends an unreasonable amount of time thinking about documents. If the tool saves you an afternoon of re-typing, that is the whole point.
